The German Embassy Manila and the Climate Change Commission (CCC) are offering a Specialized Training Program for Media Professionals in Climate Journalism.


This project is implemented by Deutsche Welle Akademie to increase their skills in the field of climate change reporting.


When: 09-13. September 2024

Where: Metro Manila


Topics Covered:


Research & Storytelling: Gain expertise in researching climate change and understanding its impacts.


Constructive Journalism: Focus on solutions and progress in climate reporting to engage and inspire readers.


Safety Measures: Learn safety protocols to protect yourself while reporting on climate issues.


Field Trip: Experience the effects of climate change firsthand with a visit to an affected region.


Mentoring: Create a media product on a climate change topic with guidance from DW Akademie trainers.



Eligibility Criteria:


Professional Journalists from the Philippines up to 35 years of age with 3-6 years of experience; from different regions, especially those affected by climate change, including Metro Manila;


Must understand and speak English and have editor approval for five days of absence.
